Say “YES” on your own private secluded island… Gabriel Island provides the perfect setting: removed enough to experience magical moments of intimacy with your family and friends, yet accessible by sea within less than one hour of easy cruising.

A spacious, beautifully decorated catamaran will take you to the island for either a beach or a chapel ceremony. Our outdoor, exquisitely furnished ocean-facing chapel can seat up to 40 guests and is truly one of a kind as it merges perfectly in its natural environment and makes for great wedding photos - you will want to call it your second home!

The island is 42 hectares in size and a Government-declared Nature Reserve dedicated to the preservation of many rare and endangered species. It is home to a large number of endemic plants and native birds, including the emblematic tropic bird. It is also known for its white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, a beautiful coral garden and spectacular coastal scenery. A beach-side massage centre is also on offer for your exclusive enjoyment.

We can organize your entire wedding event, or you can make your own arrangements and simply book the island for your wedding ceremony and reception.

Schedule:

Very flexible: you can hire the catamaran for up to 8 hours any time after 09h00. We recommend a return journey at sunset to witness the sky change from shades of pinks and blues to magnificent golden colours as you sail back towards the glimmering lights of Grand Bay – what could be a more romantic way to end a perfect day? Also, large pods of dolphins, looking for rest and shelter for their young ones, are often spotted at that time of day.

Itinerary:

Arrive at the Grand Bay Public Beach for boarding. We can also pick up a wedding party anywhere on the coast which is accessible by our catamarans
Welcome cocktail for the bride and groom and pre-departure briefing by your Captain
Arrive at Gabriel Island where you will be briefed on the various facilities and activities at your disposal while the bride and groom get ready for their wedding ceremony:
  • a 45 min guided exploration hike of Gabriel Island along a well-marked coastal trail with spectacular vistas
  • water sports (swimming, snorkeling and kayaking)
  • a beach-side massage centre (optional extra)
